Tympanometry

Tympanometry is a hearing test that essentially measures the mobility of the eardrum. It also helps to identify any abnormalities in the auditory system. During this hearing test, a soft probe is placed into the ear canal and a small amount of pressure is applied. By recording the response of the eardrum to the changes in pressure, Dr. Susan E. Terry can determine if the eardrum is moving normally. This hearing test can rule out some outer and middle ear problems such as fluid behind the eardrum.

Speech Discrimination Testing

This type of hearing test determines how clearly you hear speech. Speech discrimination testing requires you to repeat words said to you. With a speech discrimination hearing test, Dr. Susan E. Terry can determine the sounds you do or do not hear - consonants, for example.
